More About Damascus Steel Rings

Damascus steel rings are made by layering 304L and 316L stainless steels, then twisting and folding them together into a bar. This bar is then precision lathed into a ring blank. Once shaped into a ring, it is then acid etched to bring out the contrast between the different steel layers by eroding the 304L. This creates visible patterns across the surface that vary with each ring.

The designs range from woodgrain-style markings to more abstract patterns, depending on how the metal was worked and the finish applied. Some rings have a polished appearance; others are darker or more textured. The Damascus pattern is not printed but formed during the forging and etching process. The black finish is created using a durable PVD coating, the same type commonly used on black watches.

Each ring is made with a curved interior and is available from UK size M to Z+3 from stock. These are solid, well-balanced bands that suit a range of finger sizes, especially where larger options are needed.
