Materials & Responsibility Policy
Last updated: 30th March 2026
This page explains what we can confirm about the materials used in our jewellery and the level of responsibility we can take within the supply chain.
1. Precious metals used in our wedding rings
Our sterling silver wedding rings are made using recycled silver supplied by a major European bullion refiner. This applies to our wedding ring range only.
We do not claim recycled content for other silver jewellery or any alternative-metal items, as verified information is not available for those products.
2. Hallmarking and compliance
All precious metal items that require hallmarking are hallmarked by the London Assay Office or the Birmingham Assay Office.
We previously used the Sheffield Assay Office but do not currently send items there.
All hallmarked products comply with the UK Hallmarking Act.
3. Diamonds
Our diamond suppliers confirm the standard industry warranty:
“The diamonds supplied have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. Based on written guarantees from our suppliers, these diamonds are conflict-free.”
We do not purchase diamonds from unverified or uncertified sources.
4. Coloured gemstones
Coloured gemstones used in our alternative-metal rings are sourced through a long-established and reputable stone dealer in Hatton Garden, London.
Coloured stones used in our silver jewellery are supplied by our manufacturing partner in Thailand.
As gemstone supply chains do not offer full traceability or recognised ethical certification across all stone types, we do not make environmental or ethical claims beyond the information supplied by our partners.
5. Alternative metals
We use a range of alternative jewellery metals, including tungsten carbide, titanium, cobalt and zirconia ceramic. These materials are widely used in the global jewellery industry but do not have recognised ethical or environmental certification schemes, and full traceability is not always available.
For this reason, we do not market alternative metals as ethical or sustainable, do not claim environmental benefits we cannot verify, and do not make assurances about mining practices outside our control.
6. Supplier practices
We work with established manufacturers and do not knowingly source from suppliers involved in forced labour or unlawful practices.
We avoid unverified brokers and anonymous trading houses. Full origin tracing is not possible for every metal due to the nature of global production.
7. Internal responsibility
Within the areas we can control, we: use recycled silver for wedding rings; follow UK hallmarking law; source diamonds from legitimate suppliers; work with long-standing manufacturers; avoid misleading environmental or ethical claims; and provide clear, factual information.
8. What we do not claim
To remain accurate and compliant, we do not claim: ethical metals; sustainable or eco-friendly metals; conflict-free alternative metals; environmentally responsible mining; or fully traceable supply chains for alternative-metal products. If a claim cannot be verified, we do not make it.
9. Our commitment
We aim to be clear and honest about the materials we use. Where reliable information exists, we provide it. Where it does not, we avoid assumptions and do not make claims that cannot be proven.
