Our Engraving Policy

This policy explains how engraving instructions are handled and what you must check before completing an order.

1. How our engraving system works
Engraving text entered at checkout is transferred directly to the computer that operates our laser engraving machine. This prevents transcription errors but also means any spelling or formatting mistakes typed by the customer will be engraved exactly as entered.

We do not spell check, correct grammar or adjust wording.

2. Non-returnable items
Engraved items cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged.
This also applies to finger-size changes. Once an item has been engraved, the size cannot be altered or exchanged.

3. What we engrave
We engrave the text exactly as typed, including:
• capital letters
• punctuation
• spacing (extra spaces are automatically reduced)

Please ensure the text is written exactly as you want it to appear.

4. Additional engraving instructions
If you need to tell us something that cannot be entered at checkout, such as layout preferences or font choices, select “Customer request to follow” and still enter your wording in the main text box.
You must then email your additional instructions to engraving@titanjewellery.co.uk.

5. Checking your text
It is your responsibility to review and double-check all engraving text before payment. Once the order is placed, we will treat the information as correct.

Check carefully for:
• spelling
• dates
• punctuation
• capitalisation
• spacing
• number sequences

6. If you need an urgent change
If you realise you have made a mistake, contact us immediately.

Email: engraving@titanjewellery.co.uk
Phone: 01622 222405 (Mon–Fri, 9.30am–5.00pm)

Emails sent to engraving@titanjewellery.co.uk go directly to the engraving room. We always check this inbox before engraving begins, so this is the fastest way to reach the correct place in time.

7. When engraving takes place
Engraving may be carried out at any time, including evenings, weekends and out of normal working hours during busy periods.
Do not wait until the next day to report an error, email immediately.

8. Engraving appearance and metal reaction
Laser engraving removes a small layer of material to form the inscription. In addition to the physical vaporisation process, there is also a chemical reaction between the laser and the metal.
This means different metals may produce different colour outcomes:

• some metals darken to a strong black
• some produce a light grey finish
• some show little or no colour change

This variation is normal and depends on the metal composition. It is not considered a fault or engraving error.
