Inside ring engraving information –
We are able to engrave inside the majority of the rings available on the website for just £1.25 per character, and in a choice of 2 fonts.
Depending on the hardness of the ring depends on the depth of the engraving. Our engraving machine is diamond tipped so it will engrave on any of our metals, but the tougher the metal, the shallower the cut.
Engraving inside tungsten carbide rings. We can do this, and do engrave tungsten rings most days. The engraving is shallow, but perfectly readable. We are happy to engrave tungsten rings despite most jewellers saying they cannot be engraved.
Engraving inside titanium rings. This is absolutely fine and is much deeper than tungsten, although still shallower than precious metals it is still very easy to read.
Engraving inside cobalt rings is very similar to tungsten with no issues on reading the text.
Engraving inside any of our precious metal rings is by far the deepest engraving that we can offer. This is due to the silver, gold, platinum or palladium rings being so much softer than the other rings that we sell.
We do however advise against engraving our black rings made of zirconium ceramic. Although very similar to tungsten in hardness, the fact that they are black and absorb the light makes it very difficult to read. You would be able to see the engraving if magnified, but it wouldn’t be clear with the naked eye.
